Large Format printing is a form of commercial printing which generally refers to the printing of items over 17 inches / 42cm wide. Specialist printers are needed to produce items of this size as Digital printers and Lithographic printers (more common forms of printing) have a smaller limitation in the size they are able to print; though you will now more commonly find that some commercial printers are able to offer all of these services under one roof, including us!
.
Large Format printers generally use a roll of material rather than individual sheets, which is ideal in the production of items such as PVC banners. Large Format printers are also able to print onto a wide variety of materials including canvas, PVC banners, paper, foamex, lino and much more.
.
With large format print comes the flexibility to produce items cost effectively from a quantity as little as 1, making it ideal for bespoke, individual items such as outdoor signage, as well as production of a higher volume such as 500 PVC banners.
.
Examples of items produced via large format print are:
· PVC banners
· Banner stands
· Exhibition graphics
· Canvas prints
· Foamex signs
· Window clings to fill shop windows
.
Once printing commences on our Roland Versacamm 640 Large Format printer, we can print up to 248.6 square feet per hour! The finished item would have a smooth finish and you wouldn’t see any indentation or edging on the print as with older styles of print.
Once printing is complete, the items are taken to the ‘finishing area’ to be finished, packed, labelled and despatched for delivery to the client.
