AC Print Ltd Shortlisted for Best Sales and Marketing Award!

We have been shortlisted for the Herald Express Business Excellence Awards category of Best Sales and Marketing!

Our entry was almost never made after our internet went down just before the deadline, but luckily, with a little hard work and perseverance, we scraped it through just in time – and lucky we did, as we are now down to the final 4 in our category!

The awards are being held at the Riviera International Centre, Torquay on Friday 14th March 2014 with pre-awards supplement in paper on Thursday 6th March and post-awards supplement in paper on Thursday 20th March.  We’ll let you know how we get on, though judging by the incredibly high standard of local marketing campaigns in the past 12 months, we think it’s simply an honour to be selected!

Here’s our own top 4 favourites from 2013:

1. The Great Gorilla Trail

“Great Gorillas is an art trail featuring life-size sculptures of gorillas around the streets, parks and open spaces of the English Riviera and Exeter, with a few surprises along the way.”

We loved the cross-media campaign used by Paignton Zoo to highlight their 90th birthday and the amazing conservation work they have done around the globe in this time.  Their use of print, mobile apps, social media, website, traditional advertising, off the wall advertising such as the The Great Gorilla Guest Ale produced by local brewery Bays, and the actual Gorilla statues themselves, created a real buzz throughout South Devon during summer 2013 – we’re not ashamed to say we managed a few ‘selfies’ with the Gorillas, ourselves!

2. Glas-Denbury

“A family friendly live music festival in the heart of the beautiful Devon countryside. Held at Fairfield Farm in Denbury, it lies in the shadow of the beautiful Denbury Hill, with Dartmoor one way and the coastline the other and the location and views couldn’t be more perfect.”

We just love the idea of this family friendly music festival.  They put together the perfect mix of marketing activity, from press coverage with local business support, to radio, to outdoor banners, social media, print, word of mouth and the promotional video on their website makes us yearn for the long summer nights!

3. Spellbound at Babbacombe Theatre

“Spellbound has flair & talent and is the best show I have seen at this venue in the last ten years. It is classier but still with the fun factor.  You’ll need to book in advance!”

Babbacombe Theatre didn’t fail to excite us in 2013 with their spellbinding graphics, we saw their advertising everywhere from the local paper to bill boards and everywhere inbetween!   Locals and tourists alike all flocked to the Theatre to see the show, proving their marketing strategy is spot on for their target audience.

4. Palm FM’s Bun Run

“If you’re based in South Devon and think your colleagues deserve a tasty treat, fill in the form on the website and Palm FM’s Breakfast presenter Matt Rogan could be making his way to your workplace with some delicious cakes!”

What a genius idea!  Everybody loves a tasty treat, and what a great, positive marketing message to send out to their listeners.  A great way to encourage listeners to tune in and stay tuned in, and the best bit is they have their very own platform to promote it on!  Plus, we really fancy winning some buns and giving them a little mention here can’t hurt, right?!
