Pre-Press & Proofing

Our fully equipped studio features the latest hardware coupled with current versions of all major applications, enabling us to handle your files with ease. We operate both Mac and PC workstations using software which allows us to not only generate awe inspiring artwork from a design brief, but also edit, preflight and output your press-ready PDF’s. We run Studio Rip pre-press workflow which is fully integrated with our press ensuring colour accurate proof to print reproduction. Once imposed contone proofs are approved, the print ready files are released from Studio Rip and output via our Screen Platerite 43005 Thermal CPT System to the latest Kodak Sonara processless plate which is completely chemical free. The Cip3 data is generated and automatically sent to the press enabling automatic ink duct settings for each job. This reduces make ready times and saves on consumables.

Print Ready Files
Adobe PDF’s are our preferred choice. For best results and the quickest turnaround time, please enquire about about our Distiller options set which is tailored for our Studio Rip. In all other cases, please use the highest resolution options available, and ensure that under images, all downsampling is off. This will increase the size of the file. Also ensure that all fonts used are set to embed. The PDF must also include a minimum of 2mm bleed (if required) and set to the correct colour space, ie CMYK, spot pantones or a combination of both. Any cutting lines or non-printing guides must be set in a spot colour and set to overprint throughout. Image data must be a minimum of 300dpi.
